Selaković after the UNSC session: Serious and impartial performance of the UNMIK chief
"We will continue to fight, our interests are clear and completely legitimate, they are based on international public law and relevant UNSC resolutions. That fight is not easy, but our motives are stronger than all that. We are fighting to protect the security of our population in Kosovo and Metohija, to preserve the interests of our state, not to allow attacks on us, and it is our job to remain persistent in that fight", said Selaković.
The head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that the report of the UN Secretary General was approved by us, among other things, because the UNMIK chief, Mr. Zahir Tanin, described the events that were not in the reporting period, i.e., the latest provocations of Pristina, in a serious, concise and impartial manner.
According to him, the second impression from today's session is the division of views between the permanent members, where the United States, the United Kingdom and France are on the one side, and Russia and China on the other, but also the very clear and unambiguous position of most non-permanent members of the UNSC, such as India, Tunisia, Vietnam, Mexico and Kenya, which support Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, the continued action of UNMIK and the implementation of Resolution 1244, as well as our commitment to dialogue.
Minister Selaković pointed out that today, before the UNSC, Serbia convincingly presented its position, its commitment to dialogue and pointed out the constant undermining of the dialogue process by Pristina.
