22. Apr 2021.
The President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said today that the Honorary Citizen Charter of Banjaluka is one of the highest awards he has received, and that as of today, he is also a citizen of Banjaluka.

President Vučić was awarded the key to the City of Banjaluka with the Honorary Citizen Charter of Banjaluka on the Ceremony celebrating the Day of the City.

“Thank you very much for this award. To receive an award in the city of Petar Kočić, Ban Svetislav Milosavljević, Veselin Masleša, Marjan Beneš, is certainly one of the highest honours I have received. With this award I, myself, become a citizen of Banjaluka with all the obligations and responsibilities this entails. I am becoming a part of the city that lies next to eternal Vrbas, and a part of its great and glorious history”, said President Vučić.

The President of Serbia said that throughout modern history and today Banjaluka has become the most important Serbian city alongside Belgrade, a city with room for everyone and managing to draw the best from those that live in it.

“A great obligation has been placed before me today, to be one of those that will bring and give something to Banjaluka, first of all, unselfishly all that I can and I have, all the support and love for this wonderful right and honour to be able to say that I am, like you are, a citizen of Banjaluka. To be a citizen of Banjaluka also means knowing that this is a city for everyone. A city built by differences, to become a city without differences. The capital, heart and foundation of a culture, tradition, faith and language”, he noted.

“I am particularly proud of the fact that, regardless of your differences and different political beliefs, you have unanimously decided to present this award to me. Banjaluka is showing that differences can live together, create, build, grow, and give the best to everyone. For this I am particularly honoured and happy”, concluded President Vučić.
