Exhibition "Belgrade-New Delhi: 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations" opened at the Archives of Yugoslavia
Speakers at the exhibition opening included Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia Dr. Milan Terzic, Ambassador of India Shubhdarshini Tripathi, and Ambassador Irena Sarac who spoke on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The seventy-five-year-long journey of friendly and partner diplomatic relations between Serbia and India began on 5 December 1948, only one year after the independence of the Republic of India was proclaimed.
Since then to the present day, mutual friendship and cordial contacts have been a constant in the relations between the two countries, which, even in the most difficult moments, were characterized by mutual trust, understanding and solidarity.
Today, we are proud to point out that the overall bilateral cooperation between Serbia and India is successfully developing and advancing in numerous areas, including intensive cooperation and meetings at the highest level.
The careful selection of archival material presented at the exhibition "Belgrade-New Delhi: 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations" is a credible testimony to the rich history of bilateral relations and the development of overall cooperation between the two states, and the old photos and documents are there to remind us of all the personages who contributed to the creation of a common history of the Serbian and Indian peoples.
