Political relations
With the conclusion of the Agreement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić to Abu Dhabi on 10 September 2022, relations between the two countries were elevated to the highest level, with the aim of continuing the high degree of cooperation in numerous areas of mutual interest.
The first bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates were held in Belgrade on 5 October 2026. The Serbian delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić, while the UAE delegation was headed by Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.
President of the United Arab Emirates Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid a working visit to the Republic of Serbia on 30 July 2026.
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić paid a working visit to the UAE on 22 March 2026.
President of the UAE Federal National Council Saqr Ghobash visited the Republic of Serbia from 1 to 4 June 2026. During the visit, he met with President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Đuro Macut.
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić visited the UAE from 12 to 13 January 2026 to participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Đuro Macut participated in the World Governments Summit, held in Dubai, UAE, from 2 to 6 February 2026.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia visited the UAE from 11 to 14 December 2025 to participate in the Sir Bani Yas Forum. During his visit, he met with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations was signed.
During the working visit of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Belgrade on 5 October 2026, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement was signed (it entered into force on 1 June 2025).
Economic relations
Bilateral economic cooperation is on the rise.
According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total trade in goods with the United Arab Emirates in 2025 amounted to EUR 100.0 million, of which exports from the Serbia accounted for EUR 81.5 million, while imports amounted to EUR 18.5 million.
According to the data of the National Bank of Serbia, during 2017, the inflow of net foreign direct investments from the United Arab Emirates amounted to 132.2 million euros, while in 2018 it was somewhat lower.
Based on the RAS database, the largest investments are from the following Emirati companies: Chabros International Group / DIV Chabros wood industry d.o.o. Loznica; Mulk Holdings FZC / Alubond Europe d.o.o .; Al Dahra International Investment LLC / Rudnap Agrar; Yugo Elite Agro / Elite Agro LLC; Mirabank; SERTA / Airport Catering and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
