Political relations
Political relations and cooperation between Serbia and Portugal are on a good level, with continuous development. Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić was in Lisbon in November 2018 and on that occasion had a meeting with Prime Minister António Costa. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia I. Dačić visited Portugal in April 2018. Former President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic paid an official visit to Portugal in January 2017.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Portugal in 2025 amounted to €171.4 million, of which €56.4 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €115.0 million to imports.
Bilateral agreements
There are currently 11 bilateral agreements in force, including:
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Portugal (16 March 2014);
Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Portugal on the Employment of Family Members of Diplomatic and Consular Staff (5 February 2014; Official Gazette of RS—International Treaties No. 4);
Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Portugal on Mutual Encouragement and Protection of Investments (16 September 2009; Official Gazette of RS—International Treaties No. 1/10)
Agreement on cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Portugal in the Field of Defence (13 February 2009; Official Gazette of RS—International Treaties No. 1/10).
