Political relations
Political relations are traditionally positive and friendly, with good partner relations. During the cold war period Belgrade and Cairo were the founders and pillars of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt S. Shoukry conducted an official visit to the Republic of Serbia on 27—28 November 2018, meeting President A. Vučić, Prime Minister A. Brnabić, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs I. Dačić.
Speaker of the National Assembly M. Gojković visited AR Egypt on 23—24 June 2019.
Economic relations
During 2020 exports from the Republic of Serbia amounted to 33.394 million euros, while imports amounted to 57.708 million euros.
Bilateral agreements
- Long-term agreement on trade and economic cooperation between FPRY and the Republic of Egypt. The Agreement came into force on 27 May 1958,
- Agreement between the Government of FPRY and Government of UAR (Egyptian area) on scientific and technical cooperation. The Agreement came into force on 14 April 1959,
- Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on mutual incentives and protection of investments. The Agreement came into force on 20 March 2006,
- Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the avoidance of double taxation regarding income tax. The Agreement came into force on 05 April 2006,
Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of culture, education and sports. The Agreement came into force on 29 May 2006.
