Selaković informed Jenča about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction that they are meeting at such a large and important gathering that affirms the values of multilateralism and international cooperation. The UN Assistant Secretary-General congratulated on the successful organization of the gathering and said that he always feels at home in Belgrade.
On this occasion, Selaković pointed out that the UN is the most important international organization for Serbia, the role of which is key to preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.
According to him, Serbia is consistently and continuously committed to respecting the principles of international law, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the status neutrality of the international presence in Kosovo and Metohija.
Selaković said that for Serbia, continuous consideration of the issue of Kosovo and Metohija in the UNSC is of utmost importance, in order for the international community to be regularly and transparently informed about events on the ground, especially taking into account Pristina's constant efforts to destabilize the situation.
The head of Serbian diplomacy informed his interlocutor about the recent events at the administrative crossings in Kosovo and Metohija, emphasizing that we consider Pristina's behaviour unacceptable and dangerous for the stability of the region.
As he said, we expect from the UN timely, adequate and visible reactions to numerous incidents, provocations and unilateral acts of Pristina which violate UNSCR 1244 and endanger the rights and security of Serbian and other non-Albanian citizens, and from KFOR to remain status-neutral and to act proactively in order to prevent any breach of the security situation on the ground.
Selaković added that Pristina now continues to obstruct the process of normalization of relations with new anti-dumping measures on imports of Serbian products, emphasizing that Belgrade continues to constructively contribute to dialogue with Pristina and is committed to finding compromise solutions, but that it is necessary to finally see a responsible approach to the implementation of the undertaken obligations from the Pristina side as well.
