Minister Đurić lays a wreath at the grave of Ivo Andrić

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, laid a wreath at the grave of Ivo Andrić, marking the 50th anniversary of the passing of Serbia’s Nobel laureate and distinguished diplomat.
The wreath-laying ceremony, held at the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at Belgrade’s New Cemetery, was also attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Stojanović.
Over the course of more than two decades in diplomacy, Ivo Andrić served in ten diplomatic missions across Europe.
On March 13, 1975, the world bid farewell to one of the greatest literary figures in the Serbian language, whose extensive body of work has been translated into 50 world languages.
