Minister Đurić confers with Ghana’s Minister for Food and Agriculture
The meeting provided an opportunity for Minister Opoku to present his vision and the policies aimed at advancing agriculture and food production in Ghana, along with the agroeconomic measures the country has undertaken steps that create space for cooperation with Serbian companies.
Highlighting the importance of ensuring that the upward trajectory of bilateral political relations between the two countries is accompanied by deepening economic cooperation, Minister Đurić underscored the particularly strong potential for intensified collaboration in the field of agriculture.
Minister Đurić offered the expertise of Serbia’s renowned agricultural institutes, including the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad and the Maize Research Institute in Zemun Polje, as well as biotechnology-focused research institutions. He emphasized that these institutions could share their knowledge and experience with Ghanaian counterparts, particularly in the application of modern technologies and modern agricultural practices.
The Serbian Foreign Minister also extended an official invitation to the Republic of Ghana to participate in the prestigious 93rd International Agricultural Fair to be held in May 2026 in Novi Sad. He noted that the event would present an excellent opportunity to establish contacts with leading companies in agribusiness, agricultural production, mechanization, and livestock breeding.
