Minister Dacic talked with the head of Romanian diplomacy

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic talked on the phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu.

The interlocutors noted that the bilateral relations between the two countries were developing in the spirit of traditional friendship, with a commitment to deepening cooperation and expanding the dialogue in the period ahead, in all areas of importance for the two countries.

Serbian Foreign Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the support lent by Romania to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia, as an issue of our highest national interest, as well as for the understanding of the difficult position of the Serbs and the non-Albanian population in Kosovo and Metohija.

The collocutors exchanged views on the European integration of the Republic of Serbia, and emphasized that further progress on the European path was extremely important amid the complex circumstances, in the context of new geopolitical challenges on the European continent.

The two ministers pointed to the need for further energy and infrastructure connectivity through numerous joint projects.

The interlocutors agreed that direct communication and regular exchange of visits at the high and top levels were of key importance for the progress of cooperation in all areas of interest. Minister Aurescu reminded of the open invitation for an official visit by the head of Serbian diplomacy to Bucharest, and the two ministers agreed that this visit would be carried out in the near future.
