Minister Dacic speaks with the German Minister of the Interior

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks today with Interior Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany Nancy Faeser.

The ministers exchanged views on the challenges posed by irregular migration on the Western Balkan route and the fight against human smuggling.

Noting Serbia's constructive role during the migrant crisis in 2015, Minister Dacic underlined that Serbia would continue to take the necessary measures to remain a reliable partner to Germany and other EU member states in curbing irregular migration, among other ways, through further alignment of Serbia's visa policy with that of the EU.

Minister Faeser reiterated the support lent by Germany to reform efforts bringing Serbia closer to EU membership as its strategic goal.

During her visit to Serbia on 28-29 November 2023, Minister Faeser also met with Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic.
