Đurić: A return to diplomacy is needed
“We believe that now, more than ever, is the time to return to dialogue, to a practical and rules-based approach to resolving problems—and Serbia adheres firmly to certain principles. These are the principles of the United Nations Charter, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states,” said Đurić.
He emphasized that President Aleksandar Vučić has shaped Serbia’s foreign policy into one that is independent, principled, and future-oriented. It is on this basis that Serbian diplomacy is engaging at the Antalya Forum.
Speaking about the importance of bilateral meetings on the margins of the Forum, Minister Đurić noted that Serbia maintains a broad perspective on the range of countries with which it seeks to build partnerships and friendly relations—something clearly reflected in the agenda of its visit to Antalya.
“We will discuss our regional priorities. Serbia’s key objective is to ensure that our country’s economic development and recovery gain further momentum. That is why we are seeking to expand our network of trade partners as much as possible. Just a few weeks ago, we ratified free trade agreements with Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. We are continuing to pursue new markets for Serbia in order to make our country even more attractive for international investment,” Đurić explained.
He added that Serbia’s foreign policy also includes actively defending its positions regarding Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the rights and status of the Serbian people in the Republic of Srpska.
“It is important to present Serbia’s policies to global political, diplomatic, and business leaders—not merely through distorted and misleading portrayals in the media, but by affirming the reality that Serbia is a pillar of stability in our region,” concluded Minister Đurić.
