Đurić confers with the President of the Japan–Serbia Parliamentary Friendship League
Minister Đurić emphasized that this visit aims to give new impetus to Serbia’s partnership with Japan and to demonstrate Serbia’s genuine commitment to further advancing relations in all areas.
According to the Minister, parliamentary cooperation represents an important instrument for the further development of political, economic, academic, and cultural ties, as well as for strengthening understanding between the political structures of the two countries.
He also noted that the productivity of inter-parliamentary cooperation is greatly enhanced by the continued close contacts maintained between parliamentary friendship groups.
In this regard, the Serbian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the very active and numerous Parliamentary Friendship Group with Japan in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, which maintains an intensive political dialogue with its Japanese counterparts and best reflects the more than 140-year-long tradition of friendship between the two peoples.
With reference to the ongoing World Expo in Osaka, which the Japanese side is organizing with great success, Minister Đurić conveyed Serbia’s interest in exchanging experiences in hosting such a significant event, stating that Serbia looks forward to welcoming Japan as one of the key global economic actors at Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
