The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie, and Diaspora of the Central African Republic (CAR), Sylvie Baïpo-Temon.

During the discussion, Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia takes great pride in nurturing more than six decades of friendship with CAR, dating back to the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement and built upon the strong personal ties between former President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, and former President of CAR, Jean-Bédel Bokassa.

Referring to last year’s visit of President Faustin Archange Touadéra to Serbia, which coincided with the anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Minister Đurić underscored that the visit served as a reaffirmation of the historical bonds between their nations. He further highlighted the mutual commitment to enhancing political dialogue and fostering high-level exchanges in the future.

Serbia’s top diplomat reiterated the country’s readiness and openness to further advancing and deepening cooperation with CAR across all areas of mutual interest.

In this regard, he pointed out that the upcoming specialized Expo 2027, to be held in Belgrade, presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for cooperation. Minister Đurić conveyed that Serbia would be delighted to extend its warm hospitality to its friends from CAR on this occasion.
