Starović at the opening of the “BIMUN 2022” conference

State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starović participated in the opening of the conference “Belgrade International Model of the United Nations - BIMUN 2022”.

The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of multilateral diplomacy in the modern world and the important role of the BIMUN conference, which enables participants to see the role of the UN, become familiar with the methodology of the UN system and current topics.

Starović said that the Republic of Serbia is actively participating in the work of the UN, working on protection and promotion of national priorities, including the preservation of territorial integrity and sovereignty, international peace and security, sustainable development, climate change and human rights.

This year's conference theme: “Global partnership and solidarity in building an inclusive, resilient and sustainable future” brought together about 150 young delegates, students and high school students, who will participate in the simulation of the UN Security Council, UN Human Rights Council, UN Population Fund, UN Environment Assembly, UN Refugee Agency, Security Council Crisis Committee (University Students), General Assembly Third Committee (Junior – High school students).
