Spouse of the President of Serbia and the First Lady of Zimbabwe discuss promoting cooperation between the two countries

During her diplomatic tour of African countries, spouse of the President of Serbia Tamara Vucic met with the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Auxillia Mnangagwa.

The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views and discuss topics of common interest.

"I thanked the First Lady for the support that the Republic of Zimbabwe lends to Serbia when it comes to the most important national interests and once again pointed out that our two countries foster a friendly relationship filled with understanding and respect," Tamara Vucic said after the meeting.

The topics discussed at the meeting included the promotion of education, tourism, sports and cultural cooperation.

"I proposed closer and more intensive cooperation in the fields of education, culture and sports," said the spouse of the Serbian President and particularly noted the importance of cooperation in the field of education, emphasizing the role played by digital technology in schools today.

The First Lady of Zimbabwe shared her experiences in developing programs and initiatives aimed at empowering women and children in her country.

At the meeting, both sides expressed willingness to further strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation in areas of vital importance for the well-being of the citizens of the two countries.

They particularly emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and the preservation of cultural heritage, which contribute to a better understanding and friendship between peoples.

The spouse of the President of Serbia and the First Lady of Zimbabwe agreed on future steps and initiatives that will contribute to the advancement of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

During their visit to Zimbabwe, as part of a multi-day stay in the countries of the African continent, the spouse of the Serbian President, Tamara Vucic, and members of the Serbian delegation previously attended the Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Africa, at the invitation of the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Auxillia Mnangagwa.

The Forum, organized by the First Lady of Zimbabwe and the United Nations agency in charge of promoting responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism (UN Tourism), is being held for the first time on the African continent, with the aim of presenting rich gastronomy and tourism that Africa has to offer.

Zimbabwean President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa and First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa addressed the forum.

"In a conversation with the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Zurab Pololikashvili, I expressed my interest in cooperation and considered the possibility of organizing a similar Forum that would bring together the countries of our region," said the spouse of the President of Serbia.

As part of their stay in Zimbabwe, the Serbian delegation also visited the Baobab Primary School and presented them with a donation.

"On behalf of the Republic of Serbia, I am delivering 95 tablets to you, wishing that you use them for learning, a little bit for fun, as well as for exploring other parts of the world, until you grow up enough to do it in person, returning afterwards to your country, because that is where the heart is," said Tamara Vucic addressing the students of this school.

The First Lady of Zimbabwe expressed her gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the importance of learning and daily progress.

The officials from all parts of Africa present at the event noted that this gesture is worthy of praise and will undoubtedly reverberate across the continent.
