Serbia continues its strong diplomatic activity in the UN
At his bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Andorra, Singapore, Bahrain, Hungary, Barbados, Liechtenstein and Egypt, Minister Selaković made concrete proposals for improving political and economic relations, strengthening the cooperative basis and exchanging delegations.
One of the key topics of discussions, similarly as over the previous days, was Serbia’s fight to protect its key state and national interests as regards Kosovo and Metohija.
In line with the messages that President Aleksandar Vučić had conveyed to world leaders during the general debate in the UN, Minister Selaković highlighted Serbia’s principled positions, based on the UN Charter and the observance of territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries, as a fundamental principle of international law.
In addition, Minister Selaković had a number of short conversations with Ministers of Foreign Affairs whom he had met in the UN. He also hosted a meeting with American Congressman Eric Swalwell and Director of the World Economic Forum Mirek Dušek in the Permanent Mission of Serbia to the UN.
Minister Selaković also had an opportunity to talk in the UN headquarters at a ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, and to reaffirm Serbia’s commitment to the movement's values and to building friendships with its member states.
Over the next two days, Minister Selaković is to have a number of meetings with Ministers of Foreign Affairs from various parts of the world and sign many intergovernmental agreements.
