Selaković: Unacceptable unilateral actions, Serbia will win
At a joint press conference in Nicosia with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides said that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is a little more peaceful today, but still fragile, and that the particular reason was that “someone has established unilaterality as the key principle for solving problems”.
“If there are negotiations, as a diplomatic way to solve all issues between Belgrade and Priština or to normalise communication and normalise the situation, it is not normal, suitable or acceptable that unilateral actions are met with subdued responses from some countries, with no meaningful or strong condemnation”, said Minister Selaković.
He noted that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija had not been able to participate in the referendum on constitutional changes on 16 January this year, or at the presidential and parliamentary elections on 3 April this year.
“These were all unilateral decisions”, emphasised Minister Selaković.
Minister Selaković said it was not just about identification documents and registration plates, but also the “mode of behaviour”.
“If someone is really committed to finding a peaceful solution for all existing issues, they should not act in such a manner as they did last night. I strongly believe that reason will prevail, and with that, Serbia will win”, concluded Minister Selaković.
