Selaković thanks Prime Minister of Cameroon for principled position concerning Kosovo and Metohija
Noting that the two countries were joined in traditional friendship and good political relations dating from the time when they were both active in the Non-Aligned Movement, Minister Selaković said that this was a great foundation for strengthening their bilateral cooperation.
He also stated that Serbia was committed to intensifying political dialogue with Cameroon, and expressed an invitation for an upcoming visit of a senior official of Cameroon to Serbia.
Minister Selaković expressed his special gratitude to Cameroon for its principled position concerning Kosovo and Metohija and for its understanding for Serbia’s position, emphasising that Serbia also strongly supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Cameroon. He said he was greatly pleased that, in light of the friendly relations between the two countries, this kind of active mutual support would continue, both bilaterally and in international organisations.
Minister Selaković noted that economic cooperation between the two countries was relatively modest and not a part of the trend of good political relations, highlighting that there was a considerable potential for cooperation in many areas such as agriculture, civil engineering, information technology and education.
He handed Prime Minister Ngute the Order of the Republic of Serbia - 2nd Class, which had been awarded in 2016 by the then President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić to the President of Cameroon Paul Biya for his achievements in the development and strengthening of cooperation and friendly relations between Serbia and Cameroon.
