Selaković: Serbia remains committed to the development of friendly, partnering and good neighbourly relations with North Macedonia
"We continue to cooperate very intensively, especially through the Open Balkans initiative launched by President Aleksandar Vučić together with the Prime Ministers of North Macedonia and Albania. We are convinced that by elaborating and implementing the agreement within the scope of the initiative, we are creating conditions for an even more intensive economic cooperation, and we remain committed to the development of our friendly, partnering and good neighbourly relations", Selaković said.
He reminded that a record economic and trade exchange of 1,120,000,000 euros was realised in the previous year, which increased by 30.4 percent compared to the year before.
Minister Selaković pointed out that 95% of what had been agreed a year ago during the first meeting with Minister Bujar Osmani was fulfilled, and that, among other things, the Commission for the Protection of National Minorities held its first session, the agreement was signed on opening the Cultural and Information Centre of Serbia in Skopje and of North Macedonia in Belgrade.
In the official part of the visit, apart from meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Osmani, Minister Selaković also met in Skopje with President of North Macedonia Steve Pendarovski, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovačevski, and President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia Talat Xhaferi.
