Minister Dačić: Serbia sends €1.5 million of aid to Türkiye and Syria
At the plenary session within the framework of the donor conference, Minister Dačić said that the Government of Serbia had established an operational team for coordination of humanitarian aid in the first days of the tragedy in order to help the people of Türkiye and Syria.
As he pointed out, the Government of Serbia had so far sent € 2.8 million to Türkiye and 2.98 million to Syria.
“We welcome the initiative of the EU and Sweden, and I am using this opportunity to express my condolences to the bereaved families. We share the pain of those who lost their loved ones, and it is clear that our solidarity in expressing our sympathy and condolence is not enough. That is why the Government of Serbia has allocated additional funds for the two countries, out of € 1.5 million in total, 750,000 for each country”, pointed out Minister Dačić.
He also said that Serbia's aid would not be exhausted with this and that we were ready to continue providing support.
“Such events serve as a reminder that only together we can provide an adequate response to global challenges. European unity in these circumstances is very important”, concluded Minister Dačić.
