Minister Dacic congratulated Statehood Day

"Ever since 1804, when the First Serbian Uprising took place on Sretenje and since 1835, when the first Constitution of Serbia was adopted, our people and our country have enjoyed respect and have had many friends.

Sretenje is a day that unites our love for freedom and justice, the values that have guided Serbia throughout its history.

That is why we celebrate it with pride, as a country with a long freedom-loving and democratic tradition. We also celebrate it as a people that is willing to cooperate with all who want us to make progress together and respect each other.

May this Statehood Day be a day of pride in our history and our ancestors, as well as a day that reminds us of the path of freedom, peace and prosperity, which Serbia should continue on.
