Minister Dačić with Algerian ambassador on the visit by the Algerian FM

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić met with Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Serbia Fatah Mahraz.

In a cordial atmosphere the two officials discussed upcoming bilateral activities and a planned visit by the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf to the Republic of Serbia.

Both parties agreed that the visit would be a good opportunity to maintain the achieved level of overall bilateral relations and to advance the relations further in all areas of mutual interest.

Serbia highly appreciated the principled position of friendly Algeria with regards to non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, and the principled and consistent support to the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

The two officials also discussed continued economic cooperation, which has been on an upward trajectory in recent years. The head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dačić, expressed hope that the planned visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of Algeria will have a positive effect on the economic exchange between Serbia and Algeria.
