Kozarev on a working visit to Azerbaijan
The meeting highlighted the close ties between the two countries and their peoples, further strengthened by the friendly relations and mutual understanding between Presidents Vučić and Aliyev. Both sides expressed readiness to intensify high-level visits and continue the political dialogue based on the Strategic Partnership Agreement. Particular appreciation was expressed for close cooperation in the fields of defense, security, and energy.
Secretary General Kozarev conveyed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani hosts for their principled support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for consistently backing Serbia’s positions regarding Kosovo and Metohija in international fora, especially within various multilateral organizations.
He extended special appreciation to Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov for participating in the Ambassadors’ Conference held in Belgrade late last year, which he opened jointly with Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić.
Kozarev also briefed his counterparts on the recent failed attempt at a color revolution in Serbia, underlining the government's firm commitment to safeguarding constitutional order and ensuring continued economic progress.
He welcomed Azerbaijan’s confirmed participation in the Specialized Expo 2027 exhibition.
During the day, Secretary General Kozarev also met with Fariz Ismailzade, Vice-Rector of ADA University, with whom he agreed to continue joint activities in the area of professional education. Kozarev also delivered a lecture to students, representatives of Azerbaijani institutions, and members of the diplomatic corps, focusing on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and Serbia’s foreign policy priorities.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Heydar Aliyev Center, where the hosts presented a comprehensive overview of Azerbaijan’s history.
