The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dušan Kozarev, today opened the traditional Press Rally at the Belgrade Fair, organized in the lead-up to the Belgrade Car Show by the Auto Press Club of the Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS) in cooperation with the Belgrade Fair.

Participants competed in three groups according to engine capacity, as well as in special categories—Ladies, Juniors, and Veterans. Journalists took part in the race, including competitors from Canada and Russia, which gave this year’s event an international dimension.

Highlighting the importance of sport in all spheres of life, Kozarev thanked the organizers and congratulated them on bringing together a large number of participants, expressing hope that the competition could in the future develop into a full-fledged championship. He also used the opportunity to announce that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing Diplomatic Sports Games, noting that disciplines such as motorsport or karting could be included in these activities in the future.

He emphasized that this event has been held for decades and represents a tradition passed down “from generation to generation,” both among the organizers and among participants, judges, and representatives of the media. Kozarev also underlined that the event holds personal and emotional significance for him, as he has been part of the automotive sports story since childhood.

He wished the participants much success and a safe race, expressing the hope that future generations will continue this tradition and become involved in sport in a healthy, systematic, and institutionally organized manner—through clubs and auto-moto sports—where safe, responsible, and fair competition is fostered.
