Kozarev meets with the Ambassador of Armenia
Secretary General Kozarev took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him during his visit to Armenia in February of this year. He reaffirmed his strong impression of the traditionally close relations between the two countries and their longstanding friendship and solidarity.
He emphasized Serbia’s firm commitment to further strengthening and deepening its political cooperation with Armenia, as well as to expanding collaboration across all areas of mutual interest.
Kozarev noted the significant potential for the exchange of experiences and the coordination of activities in the context of European integration. He also expressed particular satisfaction with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the diplomatic academies of the two foreign ministries, describing it as a valuable platform for enhancing diplomatic cooperation.
Reaffirming their mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity, Kozarev briefed the Ambassador on the current situation and the growing challenges faced by the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.
He also highlighted the detrimental economic effects of a six-month-long attempt to incite a color revolution in Serbia, with particular emphasis on the recent efforts to escalate tensions through the blockade of the national broadcaster, RTS.
Following the meeting, Secretary General Kozarev and Ambassador Hovakimian laid a wreath at the Armenian khachkar (stone cross) in Zemun Park, marking the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
