Kozarev confers with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dušan Kozarev, met today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala, Julio Eduardo Orozco Pérez, with whom he discussed the most important aspects of bilateral relations and current geopolitical topics.

Both sides noted their readiness to further deepen the sincere and long-standing friendship between the two countries, particularly through continuing the good practice of meetings between representatives of the two states. Interest was expressed in maintaining political dialogue, making further progress in economic and commercial diplomacy, and intensifying cooperation in the field of education.

Kozarev expressed gratitude for Guatemala’s firm support in international forums and for its steadfast position of not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

Emphasizing the importance of ties between the two ministries, Kozarev informed his Guatemalan counterparts that Belgrade stands ready to continue political consultations. The meeting also addressed the possibility of Serbia’s participation in equipping the “Garden of Friendship” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala with items representing the cultural heritage of our country. The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of an exchange of young diplomats.

Pérez congratulated Serbia on the excellent organization and warm hospitality during the Second International Participants Meeting of the Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027, on the occasion of which the delegation of Guatemala visited Serbia.
