Jovanović at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, participated today in Sarajevo in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

On this occasion, Jovanović emphasized that Serbia attaches great importance to the Danube Strategy as one of the most successful models of macro-regional cooperation, linking EU Member States and those on the path to membership. In this regard, she particularly underlined the Strategy’s significance in strengthening the political and geostrategic relevance of the region in light of current challenges, as well as its role in enhancing connectivity, stability, and sustainable development.

Jovanović reaffirmed that Serbia remains a committed and constructive partner within the framework of the Danube Strategy, with the aim of fostering regional cooperation and achieving tangible results beneficial to all citizens through joint projects and initiatives.

On the margins of the meeting, Jovanović also held talks with the heads of delegations of Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania on priorities for further bilateral cooperation, as well as within multilateral formats.
