Jovanović confers with State Secretary at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The interlocutors noted the exceptionally elevated level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Hungary, which continue to develop successfully across all areas of mutual interest, including infrastructure and energy. It was assessed that cooperation between the two countries is currently at its highest level in modern history, with particular emphasis placed on the fact that such intensity of relations is also the result of the personal commitment and friendly relations between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán.
Jovanović emphasized that Serbia highly appreciates Hungary’s continuous support on its path towards membership in the European Union, as well as its support on issues of national interest in international forums, and its understanding of current developments in the region.
Jovanović and Sztáray particularly highlighted the importance of the Strategic Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary as a key mechanism for further advancing political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries.
They also welcomed the agreement on the joint use of diplomatic and consular premises, which contributes to more efficient institutional operations and the deepening of practical cooperation, reflecting in the most feasible way the nature of relations between the two countries.
Jovanović is in Trieste as a member of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, led by Minister Marko Đurić.
