Jovanović Confers with the Secretary General of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative Secretariat

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nevena Jovanović met today in Skopje, ahead of the 11th Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR), with the Secretary General of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative Secretariat, Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta.

During the cordial and constructive meeting, the interlocutors discussed current aspects of cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative Secretariat, as well as activities within the framework of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region.

The interlocutors also reviewed cooperation within the second pillar of the Strategy, jointly coordinated by Serbia and Italy, with particular emphasis on connectivity-related activities during the Italian Presidency, as well as the Secretariat’s readiness to actively engage and provide support for the implementation of upcoming activities.

Jovanović and Castellaneta reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing close cooperation aimed at further strengthening regional connectivity, enhancing cooperation within macro-regional initiatives, and contributing to the stability, development, and prosperity of the Adriatic-Ionian region.
