Jovanović confers with the Ambassador of Tunisia

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nevena Jovanović met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Serbia, Imen Laajili Ammari.

The meeting highlighted the exceptionally high level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Tunisia, nurtured over many years and further strengthened by their shared history of engagement within the Non-Aligned Movement. Both sides expressed their commitment to the continued advancement of bilateral relations in a wide range of areas of mutual interest, including the enhancement of economic cooperation, for which, as noted, there are considerable opportunities.

Views were exchanged on current developments in the Western Balkans and the Middle East, and the commitment of both Serbia and Tunisia to the principles of international law was reaffirmed.

State Secretary Jovanović expressed gratitude for Tunisia’s principled support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both sides also confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation within international forums.

Ambassador Ammari thanked for the invitation extended to Tunisia to participate in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, expressing particular satisfaction that her country will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of this important international exhibition.
