Dačić: Serbia is grateful to Iran for its position on Kosovo
After the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dačić pointed out that Iran is taking a principled position when it comes to joining international organizations, and added that Iran did not vote for the admission of Kosovo, regardless of all the pressures.
Dačić added that Serbia is firmly committed to cooperation with Iran and that the two countries will discuss the forms of cooperation in the coming period.
Dačić pointed out that foreign trade exchange with Iran reached 55 million dollars in the last few months and added that other types of cooperation will be developed, such as cooperation in the fields of energy, education, science, and culture.
Dačić stated that 18 scholarships were awarded to students from Iran who wish to study in Serbia. He added that Serbia and Iran are marking 85 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, which indicates a long-standing tradition in cooperation between the two countries.
“Bilateral relations between Serbia and Iran are at a very high level,” said the Serbian head of diplomacy.
Dačić pointed out that Serbia is concerned about the events in Iran, and added that Serbia does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
“We want the problems to be solved in the interest of the Iranian people and the state,” Dačić said, and added that Iran is a friend of Serbia and that, accordingly, Serbia will be on its side in principle.
