Dacic presents Jokic with an award for merit in promoting the reputation of Serbia in the world

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic presented the world's best basketball player and this year's NBA champion Nikola Jokic with an award for promoting Serbia's reputation in the world, which was awarded to him earlier this year at the ceremony marking the Day of Serbian Diplomacy.

In a cordial conversation with Nikola Jokic, Minister Dacic expressed his satisfaction for having the opportunity to personally present him with this award and thanked Jokic for dedicating part of his success to his country.

Dacic pointed out that our country knew how to appreciate the efforts and successes achieved by our people in the global arena, whether they were engaged in sports, art or any activity in which they go beyond our national boundaries and spread the good word about Serbia throughout the world, and added that this was our debt and obligation to them as they were doing so much for diplomacy and the reputation of their country.

The recognition is awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to our distinguished individuals who promote the reputation of Serbia in the world through their profession. Among athletes, before Nikola Jokic, Novak Djokovic was also awarded on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Diplomacy in 2020.
