Dačić meets with Nyonda: We appreciate Gabon's support to Serbia’s territorial integrity
Minister Dačić emphasised that Serbia appreciated its long relationship with Gabon, and would make efforts to officially mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries this October.
“In this regard, we want our friendly relations to be reflected in the best possible cooperation in various other fields of crucial importance for the citizens of Serbia and Gabon”, said Minister Dačić.
Minister Dačić highlighted the fact that the current economic cooperation between the two countries was very limited, but that there was a lot of room for improvement and a lot of potential to be better in the future.
“We want to enhance our economic cooperation. The volume of our foreign trade is very low. It amounts to less than 10 million a year”, said Minister Dačić.
He announced that a delegation of Gabon led by Minister Niyonda would, over the following few days, meet with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia Jelena Tanasković, and that the topic of education would also be discussed.
“There is a number of other topics we should prepare in order to be ready for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of our diplomatic relations”, said Minister Dačić.
He recalled that President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of Gabon Ali Bongo Ondimba had met the previous September in New York and discussed the enhancement of the political dialogue and economic cooperation and improvement of bilateral relations.
