Congratulations of Minister Selaković to Minister Lavrov on the occasion of Russia Day

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, congratulated the Head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, on the national holiday, Russia Day, sending him best wishes for the progress and prosperity of the people of the friendly Russian Federation.

Selaković expressed confidence that the recent meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation made a strong contribution to further strengthening the traditional friendly ties between our two countries, as well as to the improvement of comprehensive Serbian-Russian cooperation.

The congratulatory letter of Minister Selaković states: "I also take this opportunity to express my great gratitude to the Russian Federation and to you personally, for your principled support for preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and for the efforts to resolve the Kosovo and Metohija issue peacefully, through dialogue, in the interest of preserving stability".

The head of Serbian diplomacy also pointed out that Serbia highly appreciates the timely and wholehearted assistance provided by the Russian Federation to our country in the fight against COVID-19, which, as he stated, confirms the permanence of fraternal solidarity, which is traditionally present in relations between our people and states.
