Bilateral political consultations between Serbia and Mexico

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia was led by State Secretary Damjan Jović, while the Mexican delegation was headed by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, María Teresa Mercado Pérez.

Both sides affirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Mexico, as well as their mutual readiness to continue and further strengthen cooperation in the period ahead. Views were exchanged on the most important issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis placed on marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, to be commemorated next year.

A shared desire was expressed to enhance cooperation in the fields of science, culture, new technologies, as well as to further advance economic ties and investment cooperation.

State Secretary Jović expressed gratitude to Mexico for its consistent support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

The interlocutors reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, as well as to further strengthening cooperation on issues of mutual interest within international organizations and forums.

Views were also exchanged on current regional and international developments.
