Sofia: Opening of the Serbian Corner in the “SS. Cyril and Methodius” National Library

At the premises of the “SS. Cyril and Methodius” National Library in Sofia, a formal ceremony was held on the occasion of opening a Serbian Corner.
This project was launched at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, and in collaboration with the “SS. Cyril and Methodius” National Library and the National Library of Serbia.

The Serbian Corner was opened by Ambassador Željko Jović and Director of the National Library Krasimira Aleksandrova.

The ceremony was also attended by Dobrila Begenišić, as a representative of the National Library of Serbia, Dean of the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St Cyril and St. Methodius” Tsenka Nikolova Ivanova, Serbian Language Lecturer at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" Biljana Vasić, as well as many persons belonging to the Serbian community in Bulgaria and students of the Department of Serbian Language at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”.

The aim of the project is to present Serbian history, tradition and culture through classic and modern works of literature. For that purpose, 35 different books, donated by the National Library of Serbia, are permanently exhibited and available to the public.
