Sofia: Marking of St. Sava Day
The gathering was attended by representatives of the „St. Cyril and Methodius“ National Library in Sofia, head of the Department of Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Philology at the University of „St. Cyril and Methodius“ in Veliko Trnovo, language instructor for the Serbian language at the University of „St. Kliment Ohridski“ in Sofia and students, representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, members of the Serbian diaspora who live and work in Bulgaria, as well as teachers and students of the102 Elementary School „Panayot Volov“ in Sofia.
This year, the students of the said school started attending Serbian language classes, which were conducted according to the national programme titled „Activities according to interests“ of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bulgaria, and within the „Slavic languages“ club.
On this occasion, the students prepared a short programme and performed a recitation about „St. Sava“, after which Ambassador Željko Jović presented them with books in the Serbian language, a donation from the National Library of Serbia.
