Seoul: Ambassador Grbić visits the Korea National Diplomatic Academy
Chancellor Hong presented the organisational structure and activities of the Academy which primarily focused on training and education of diplomatic personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. He highlighted that the Academy also played a role as a research centre of international relations. He expressed his particular pleasure with the fact that Ambassador Grbić was one of the trainees of the Academy during his 2017 visit to Korea.
Ambassador Grbić and Chancellor Hong concurred that the Memorandum of Cooperation, signed by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Korea National Diplomatic Academy in 2016, was an excellent foundation for further cooperation.
Ambassador Grbić expressed his great gratitude for the invitation addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia to nominate a candidate for participation in this year’s training programme for diplomats and civil servants, organised by the Korea National Diplomatic Academy. In addition, he conveyed the interest of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in improving and concretising its cooperation with the Korea National Diplomatic Academy in the upcoming period.
In this regard, Ambassador Grbić mentioned the possibility of an in-person meeting between representatives of the two institutions which may take place in the margins of one of the future sessions of the International Forum on Diplomatic Training, as well as an online meeting between the managements of the two academies. He also highlighted a possibility of organising special guest lectures by senior officials of the two countries at the said academies, as a part of bilateral visits, as well as other forms of cooperation defined in the Memorandum of Cooperation.
