Seoul: Ambassador Grbić with the president of the Korean Creative Content Agency
Ambassador Grbić assessed that the Republic of Korea is one of the global leaders in the cultural content industry, and that Serbia is ready to learn from Korea in this area, and added that contacts between the two countries have already been initiated, referring to the cooperation between the Film centre of Serbia, the Korean Film Council, and the Korean Academy of Film Arts, and contacts between the Video Game Industry Association of Serbia and the Korean Video Game Industry Association, etc.
He also pointed out that the Government of Serbia attaches great importance to creative industries. The national platform “Srbija stvara” (Serbia Creates) was launched in 2017, as an umbrella body responsible for the international promotion and export of Serbian creative industry products.
Bearing in mind that “Serbia creates” platform and KOCCA share a similar orientation, Ambassador Grbić advocated establishing direct contact between the two organizations, in order to exchange experiences, information and good practices.
The president of KOCCA, Jo Hyunrae, thanked for the information presented and introduced the organization and activities of KOCCA, as an agency of the Korean government that supervises and coordinates the promotion of the contents of the Korean cultural industry.
The added reported that KOCCA seeks to increase the competitiveness of the South Korean cultural content industry by providing various types of support to Korean companies in this area. He conveyed the readiness of KOCCA to establish direct communication with partners in Serbia, bearing in mind the existing potential for cooperation.
