Ankara: Ambassador Marković at the meeting of Serbian and Turkish travel agencies
Ambassador Marković emphasised that the strengthening of the cooperation in the field of tourism was a result of the overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey, considered to be at their highest point in their 140-year long history, primarily due to the mutual understanding and trust between the Presidents of the two countries.
Ambassador Marković added that Ankara was a new market for Serbian tourism, and that Serbia was particularly interesting to inhabitants of this part of Turkey. He highlighted that a direct flight between the two capitals, established towards the end of the previous year, undoubtedly contributed to bringing the two nations closer together and letting them to get to know each other better.
Other speakers who addressed the attendees were Director of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia Marija Labović, and CEO of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade Miodrag Popović. Ivana Sert, a famous TV personality of Serbian origin, was appointed Special Promoter of the Belgrade Tourism in Turkey.
In addition to representatives of Turkish and Serbian travel agencies, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and of Turkish Airlines were also present at the meeting.
