Political relations
Political relations are traditionally good and friendly. Libya was one of the most important Arab partners of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia during the decades-long rule of Muamar El Gaddafi. The backbone of that cooperation was: construction, health and military industry. Political dialogue has stalled in recent years due to the current situation in Libya.
Economic relations
In 2021 Serbian exports were 19,453,000 euros and imports were 6,436,000 euros.
Bilateral agreements
Agreement on trade and economic cooperation with Libya. The Agreement entered into force on 12 March 1975.
Agreement between Serbia and Montenegro and the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on encouragement, guarantee and protection of investments. The Agreement entered into force on 23 April 2008.
Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on the avoidance of double taxation in relation to income tax. The Agreement entered into force on 8 June 2010.
Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Serbia and the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on cooperation in the field of education. The Agreement entered into force on 14 June 2010.
