Political relations

Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Ghana are traditionally friendly and communication is maintained at a high level. As part of its anti-colonial policy, SFRY has supported Ghana’s struggle for independence from the very beginning.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at the time, Ivica Dačić, conducted an official visit to Ghana on 20 May 2019.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana Shirley Ayokor Botchwey visited the Republic of Serbia on 19—22 August 2018.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana Aaron Mike Oquaye visited Serbia on 28—30 May 2018.

 

Economic relations

In 2020 exports amounted to 969 thousand euros, while imports amounted to 5.744 million euros.

In the 2019, exports amounted to 1,429 million euros, while amounted to 6,089 million euros.

 

Bilateral agreements

Agreement between FPRY and Ghana on establishing diplomatic relations (exchange of notes), date of signing: 13 January 1959.

Trade agreement between SFRY and the Republic of Ghana, date of coming into force: 10 November 1969.
