Political Relations

Bilateral relations between Serbia and Estonia are good. There is a mutual interest in cooperation regarding the development of electronic government (e-government) in the Republic of Serbia. Our side expresses interest in intensifying political dialogue at all levels, not only with Estonia, but also with other Baltic states. A significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations was made by the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić to Tallinn, realized from September 15 to 17, 2024, which was the first visit of a Serbian Foreign Minister in 14 years. In the context of maintaining political dialogue, political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Estonia were held on December 4, 2024, in Belgrade, followed by a meeting between Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and Foreign Minister Marko Đurić on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on February 14–16, 2025. Parliamentary cooperation gained new momentum with the visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, to Tallinn on January 21–22, 2026.

Economic Relations

Foreign trade is modest in scope, with a deficit on our side. In 2022, total trade in goods amounted to €35.7 million, with exports amounting to €25 million and imports to €10.7 million. In 2021, total trade in goods was €24.97 million. In 2025, trade in goods recorded a slight deficit, total trade amounting to €38.3 million, with exports standing at €19.8 million and imports at €18.5 million. Potential for developing cooperation exists in the field of information technology. Two Estonian companies have opened their regional offices in Belgrade: Civita (a consultancy firm) and Nortal (strategic application of high technology). The E-Governance Academy also maintains a representative office in Belgrade.
