ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia need a visa to enter the Republic of Haiti. The passport validity period for travelling purposes must be at least 6 months after visa expiry, and the same applies to the regulation of a stay.

USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION Vaccination is not mandatory before entering this country. However, protection against tropical diseases, especially malaria, is recommended. Only bottled water should be drunk. SECURITY SITUATION — The security situation is unfavourable. It is not recommended to move outside the areas intended for foreigners, considering the danger of theft, attack, even kidnapping.

TRANSPORT — Out of a total of 4,000 km of roads in Haiti, only 1,000 km are paved. If a vehicle is rented (at the airport, from representative offices of foreign rent-a-car companies) it is recommended to rent an off-road vehicle. During a tourist stay in Haiti, Serbian nationals may operate a motor vehicle with their national (Serbian) driver's licence. Travellers can move around the capital using a local taxi – the so-called "tap-tap".

OTHER INFORMATION — The Haitian currency is the gourde. Other currencies are also in use, such as the US dollar and the euro.
