USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION — Before going on a trip, it is recommended to check current information on the health situation on the website of the World Health Organization (WHO), Regional Office for Africa: www.afro.who.int/health-topics.

SECURITY SITUATION — Travelling to the Central African Republic is not recommended because of its continual unstable military and political situation, the activities of illegal armed groups which control most of the country's territory, as well as serious crime. The Central African Republic is a high-risk country in terms of health. Given the low standard of living, poorly and insufficiently organised healthcare and health-risk prevention services, the risk of infection is high.
