Djuric: Number of Japanese companies in Serbia growing constantly
Djuric recalled that Serbia and Japan had marked the 140th anniversary of their friendship in 2022 and that the long tradition of bilateral relations lent an impetus to further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
The Serbian Foreign Minister said that the number of Japanese companies operating in Serbia was growing year by year as they had recognised the good business environment in Serbia, which he noted was a result of a serious policy conducted by the Serbian Government over the past ten years.
Discussing relations in the region, Djuric said that Serbia was oriented towards peace and stability as a necessary prerequisite for progress of the entire region as well as the EU accession process.
In this context, the Minister underlined that Belgrade was committed to dialogue with Pristina and wanted to have a constructive role with a view to finding sustainable solutions, but that there was no one on the other side willing to discuss the normalization of relations.
Given that Osaka will host EXPO 2025, with a Serbian delegation also expected to attend, Djuric invited Japan to take part in the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027, to be held in Belgrade.
