Đurić Confers with the Speaker of the Czech Parliament on Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Minister Đurić emphasized that relations between Serbia and the Czech Republic are characterized by sincere friendship and close ties between the two nations, underscoring that the Czech Republic represents an important foreign policy partner for Serbia. He reiterated Serbia’s commitment to further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation and intensifying political dialogue at all levels.
Đurić expressed gratitude for the Czech Republic’s continued support for Serbia’s European integration path, which remains one of the country’s strategic priorities.
Addressing economic cooperation, Đurić highlighted its dynamic development in recent years, as well as the growing influx of Czech investments into the Serbian market. He noted that Serbia is a stable economy which has more than doubled its gross domestic product over the past decade and has created a favorable environment for attracting foreign investment.
With regard to the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić informed his interlocutor about the difficult position of Serbs and reaffirmed that Belgrade remains committed to dialogue, while at the same time resolutely safeguarding its national interests.
Recognizing the importance of further strengthening parliamentary dialogue, the Serbian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the forthcoming visit of the Speaker of the Czech Parliament to Serbia, at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić. He added that the establishment of a Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Czech Republic further confirms the commitment to developing inter-parliamentary cooperation.
