Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic had a trilateral meeting today with his counterparts from Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Bisera Turkovic respectively. The meeting took place on the fringes of the informal meeting of foreign ministers of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) participants, held in Antalya.

Minister Selakovic said that peace, stability and economic prosperity were Serbia's primary interest and that the trilateral cooperation should focus more on common interests in the fields of economy and infrastructure.

Minister Selakovic noted that the economic dimension of the Serbia-Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina trilateral cooperation had significant potentials to offer, which is why it was important to undertake concrete measures with a view to intensifying the activity of the Trilateral Trade Committee and hosting trilateral business forums.

It was noted that Serbia, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina fostered very close economic ties, which opened room for investments as well as enhancement of infrastructural connectivity.

Minister Selakovic said that infrastructural development was one of the best and most recognizable results of cooperation, while underlining the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Belgrade high-speed motorway/highway and the TurkStream international project of strategic importance as key projects of common interest and examples of good cooperation.

The Serbian Foreign Minister concluded that the Serbia-Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina trilateral mechanism was important for the strengthening of stability, security and development in the region and that it produced results. Minister Selakovic also noted that he expected all actors to take an active approach to the process and sincerely commit to cooperation and the strengthening of mutual trust and confidence.
